Anne Patterson, R.D., L.D.
President of Nutrition Advantage
Farmington, IllinoisAnne Patterson, president of Nutrition Advantage, creates food and nutrition communications for health and vitality. Nutrition Advantage provides services to food companies, public relations firms, advertising agencies, restaurants and supermarkets.
Ms. Patterson has carved out a unique place in the soy industry having conducted over one hundred presentations and media interviews about food applications and nutritional benefits of soyfoods. Most recently, she appeared as a guest on America's Health Network television program demonstrating the use of soyfoods. She has conducted media tours for state soybean associations and helped to develop the first culinary education kit, "Soyfoods: Products of Your Imagination," for culinary educators, presently being used in Illinois. Ms. Patterson has written articles for a variety of farm publications and has been on the editorial board of The Soy Connection, a newsletter sent to 70,000 members of the American Dietetic Association, since its inception in 1993.
Previously, Patterson was a nutrition consultant for physicians, corporate wellness programs, health clinics and long-term care homes. She began her career in hospital clinical dietetics. She holds a degree in dietetics and nutrition from Bradley University and completed a dietetic internship at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois. She recently completed a culinary program at The School of Natural Cookery, Boulder, Colorado, a program in the art of preparing unrefined foods from the vegetarian perspective.
