Kylie Huber

We were able to pull off the ultimate surprise when were presented Kylie Huber the 2018 Young Dairy Producer of the Year award. Kylie is from Saint Paul, works off the farm, but yet has purchased her animals and works with her family on the dairy with a desire to stay involved and grow in the dairy industry - congratulations Kylie! Next we 

	Hulsbosch

were pleased to present Dominique and Mary Hulsbosch from Greensburg our 2018 Dairy Producer of the Year award. Dominique and Mary along with their three sons relocated from Belgium in 2005 wanting to build a future for their sons in the dairy industry and beginning to milk on their new farm in 2008, a wonderful family to have call Indiana home - congratulations Dominique and Mary!

Lyndsey Koester

 Our scholarship committee commented on the quality of this year's scholarship applicants making this a difficult decision but the winner being very deserving. We were very pleased to be able to announce our 2018 IDP Scholarship winner, Lindsey Koester, the daughter of Dale and Lisa Koester from Wadesville; Lindsey is currently a senior attending North Posey High School and planning to attend Purdue next year. It is so encouraging to see the quality of our future leaders, congratulations Lindsey!

Mike Schutz

The next item of business was bittersweet as we bid Dr. Mike Schutz farewell from Indiana. Mike has been an integral part of IDP from its inception - 20 years ago. We were able to make it a little lighter by presenting Mike with a couple of gifts to help him stay warm as he heads back home to Minnesota; words alone cannot express our sincere appreciation for what he has helped us accomplish and for guiding us along the way as an organization in Indiana - we thank you and wish you and Kelly all the best Mike as you depart. You have been a great friend and huge asset to our Indiana dairy industry! Following Mike's suggestion, we have asked Jacquelyn Boerman, the new Dairy Extension Specialist at Purdue to replace him as the Purdue adviser on our board - welcome Jackie! View more photos, here.
